Skincare is my new favorite adult hobby and I enjoy it very much. During my college days I wouldn’t care less what went on my face as long as it was moisturized, but that has since changed as I now spend more time testing out different products and seeing what works. I also religiously watch skincare guru Hyram before I try out any products just in case they ruin my skin. So I have come to you today to share with you the 3 things you basically need for good skin.
The title might have led you to believe that I will be recommending 3 products or brands that you need to be using but not today, I will be sharing information on a particular routine that I think you should follow rather than the products, but if you’d like to know what products I am currently using I’ll be happy to share that information too.
Tip number 1: Have a consistent routine.
When I was starting out in skincare I was so excited about the products that I would be changing my routine frequently and this would lead to different results every week, sometimes glowy skin and other times dry skin, so if you’re looking to get a consistent result create a daily routine and stick to it. If you have problematic skin you will see results much quicker if you stick to a routine. I recommend a simple everyday routine which is:
- And moisturize.
Once a week or on Self Care Sunday when you have time you can include more steps in your routine:
Tip Number 2: Eating a healthy diet.
I know this is a touchy subject as people don’t want to hear too much about it but incorporating some healthy food in your diet can do wonders for your skin. I am not talking about changing your diet drastically but adding a few healthy components will do, for example I try to makesure that I drink a healthy tea every morning, be it green tea, herbal tea or just a lemon tea. Green tea is known for having the ability to balance women’s hormones which prevents acne breakouts, it also contains vitamin C for skin glowing and you can also use it as a toner for your skin. If you notice beauty products with green tea extracts are super expensive because of the benefits, so drink your tea sis.
Tip number 3: Hydration.
Nothing flourishes without moisture or hydration sis, not your hair, not your body or your skin, so you just need to makesure you’re drinking your water to moisturize from within, and also find an oil based moisturizer rather than water based, this is because an oil based one not only moisturizes but also locks in moisture by forming a barrier from wind, water based ones are good as well but tend to evaporate quickly.
What’s your current skincare routine, has it been working for you? Let me know in the comments…xxx
